Food Appreciation

Only a food post could justify me resurrecting my blog after all these years!

Not gonna lie, the past few years have been stressful but the only constant emotional support I’ve had is food!!

I’ve literally eaten in 100’s of places but here are a few snippets of my favorite conquests!

Casual Dressing 101 ft. Shein.com

Hi guys!

I recently came across this account on Instagram called Shein. I’d actually noticed many bloggers and YouTubers talking about their stuff so I decided to give it a go. This was my first time shopping on an international site so I was a little new to the whole thing. So this is how it works: I chose all the items I wanted and then paid with a credit card (they don’t accept debit cards). They offer free shipping for orders over $30 and free express shipping for orders above $99. If you have any doubts or questions they have an incredibly fast chat team who’re literally always online so you can directly chat with them and get immediate responses to your concerns. Now , since I didn’t opt for express shipping they told me that the parcel would arrive at the post office (only express shipping orders are delivered to your doorstep) but, for some reason, the package came directly to my doorstep (yay) . Now, the customs came up to Rs. 995 which was reasonable. They charge the customs on your bill amount, so if the site offers free shipping, it’d make sense to split your order into different packages. The one problem with the site though, is that it’s a Chinese based clothing store, so you need to be very careful with the sizes. So, make sure you read the size guide and if  available, the customer reviews. I was really happy with everything I got, but many people complain abut quality so check the material and decide if it suits the style.

So coming to the clothes, I got quiet a few pieces but for this post I’ve chosen to show you guys 2 outfits which I think are extremely comfortable and easy to pull off anywhere!

#LOOK 1

For the first look, I’m wearing this tribal printed red dress which was only $8.99 (Rs. 600). This dress is really light and breezy and is super versatile. It can be worn anywhere, right from running errands to getting a quick lunch. I’ve worn it with black shoes from Koovs to elevate the comfort level.

#LOOK 2

Ok, the next thing is this white off shoulder top with great cut out detailing which I’m totally obsessed with! It goes with literally everything! In-keeping with the comfort theme, I’m wearing it with denim shorts and white shoes. I really love the overall look, it is super comfortable and such a typical girl next-door outfit. This top was $6.00 (Rs.400) which is a total steal.

Off Shoulder FTW

c360_2016-09-09-18-28-09-976

Hi guys! I know that this post is long overdue but due to the combination of exams and laziness, I keep procrastinating. No more excuses! I promise to post more regularly! ❤

The off-shoulder style has been trending all over the world and I for one, love it! I think it’s super feminine and fun and makes any plain top more exciting. Pair it with a choker and there is just no going wrong.

In this outfit, I’ve kept it plain and simple by wearing my favorite blue dress with a choker from Eristona. If you guys have never checked out Erisona’s collection, you definitely should! They have the prettiest collection of jewelry and you won’t be able to resist their collection! The choker is made with faux leather so it’s super sturdy and the embellishment attracts more attention! This dress is from SpringBreak. I’ve actually owned it or a while now and I absolutely love it. The print is so pretty and minimal that it can be worn just about anywhere.

Here are the pictures! Let me know what you guys think! x

Ethnic Twist

Okay, recently, my parents have been taking me with them to numerous weddings, house warming ceremonies and what not! I don’t know why but I’ve never really gotten over my aversion towards these events. Having said that, let me talk about the one thing I do love about these traditional events- the outfits of course!

The sheer number of these events can be overwhelming and I often find it very difficult to always have a stock of traditional outfits at my disposal. So, I thought of a way to overcome my shortage by simply wearing a western outfit with just a hint of gold!

Here’s how my outfit works. I threw on a green maxi skirt with a black crop top. But, what makes it more ethnic are the accessories. I wore a gold and diamond bracelet with long gold earrings which complemented the outfit!

Monsoon Greys

It’s still monsoon here in Bangalore and I think the weather calls for some nice warm, comfortable clothing!  Ideally, I’d rather stay at home all warm and cuddled up with a warm cup of hot chocolate and a good book but since we just can’t help but go out this is a super short post to show you guys a super simple rainy day outfit!
This look is super simple & perhaps, ideal for this season! I think during the monsoon, comfort is the key! In this look I have styled my long, grey knit top with black leggings, a layered necklace and heels. Of course the highlight of the outfit is my little black bag from 20Dresses! I’ve been looking for this bag pack high and low for a year now and am super thrilled to have finally gotten my hands on it! Its faux leather with a gold zip detailing. It goes with literally everything and fits all those little essentials that we girls love carrying around! If you are interested in fun and trendy bags likes these you should definitely check out their collection at http://www.20dresses.com/   ❤

Alsooo, huge shoutout to my friend Rakshana who took these pictures of me 🙂

A Rainy Day ft. Grey

Despite my mothers strong objection towards the color, I love stocking up on my fair share of grey clothes.

I never was a big fan of T-shirt dresses back in the day but as time passed I’ve learnt to appreciate them. This grey dress right here, is one of my favorite T-shirt dresses. It’s like a really casual dress and it happens to be super low maintenance. The dress is lose and airy, perfect for a casual day out. For this look, I’m wearing black boots and carrying a black handbag because I love how grey and black complement each other.

Also, if you’re from Bangalore, you’ll know how incredibly unpredictable the weather is. One moment, it’s sunny but before you know it, it starts to rain. I for one, hate the rain and July is my least favorite month of the year. The rain causes a terrible inconvenience as I absolutely hate getting my hair wet and the traffic, ugh! If you’re anything like me, then you too would hate getting wet and splashing dirty street water onto your clothes so  the boots serve as a great help in this scenario. Its super easy to navigate through those icky puddles in them. It goes without saying that these boots are probably the best thing I’ve ever invested in. They go with so many different outfits and they make my feet feel so comfortable and loved, haha! You should definitely prepare yourself to see them in many many many more posts.

Polka Dotty

Hi guys!

Who doesn’t love polka dots? They make any boring outfit instantly more fun and young! This dress is black and has white dots all over which makes it effortlessly transition from a day outfit to a night one! I love outfits which can be worn through the whole day as it saves a lot of time and effort!

Recently, Jabong had a sale on bags and as I was scrolling through their collection, I noticed this brand called “Lino Perros”. I love trying out new brands and the sale price was an absolute steal so I bought 2 bags! I’ve styled the black one with this outfit. It’s this trendy black bag and it goes without saying that a black bag is a closet staple. It can be styled with literally everything and I think it looks great with this dress! The material is good and it has a lot of space too!

Bohemian Affair

Hi guys! How’re you doing?

I’m super excited about this post, so let’s begin!

First off, I just wanted to say that I do love the bohemian trend but I don’t really own much boho inspired clothing. Which is one of the reasons I’m absolutely thrilled to have gotten my hands on  this dress I’m wearing from StalkBuyLove! It’s a super simple red dress with these Indian-y prints on it which I adore! The material is so light and airy that although I did this shoot at 12 noon with the sun shining brighter than ever, I did not really feel uncomfortable. Now, another problem one may face when wearing a dress, is that it constantly flies with the wind and may make you feel conscious. But, this dress has a balloon ending, (I don’t know if that’s what its called) but what I mean is that it has an elasticized bottom so the dress always stays in place. I’ll admit I was a little apprehensive when i first got it as I didn’t know if it would be comfortable and I was worried it might end up looking puffy at the bottom. But, it was super comfortable, fit like it was made for me and as you can see in the pictures it looks great on! I styled this outfit with my big fedora and boots from Forever 21 because I think it complemented the dress so well! I’m just wearing a few rings and red lipstick to finish off my look but you guys could always throw on a choker or some other accessory if you want it looking dressier!
Also, I got this red lipstick from Maybelline in the shade “Hot Chili” and its become one of my go to red lipsticks! The formula is great and it smells like heaven!

Feeling Blue

Hello you guys!

Recently I’ve been feeling a strange affinity towards the color blue. Soo, here comes my mainstream ‘Monday Blues’ post!

Okay, let me talk about this skirt I’m wearing. I absolutely adore nautical trends. The maritime inspired fashion is almost always considered to be ‘in’ in the fashion world. This skirt is from The Label Life. The material is super smooth and breezy & I’m in love with its fit and flare style. This outfit transports me to a paradise where I feel like I’m at sea, sipping champagne and enjoying the sun and breeze.

Also, can we take a moment to appreciate this bag?

I love how the different blues complement each other and are somehow in harmony. If you guys also love nautical inspired fashion as much as I do, let me know in the comments below and feel free to DM me pictures on Instagram! (nithyaaa23)

Denim on Denim

I decided to do a super quick post on the ‘denim on denim’ trend.

Something about the simplicity of a basic outfit, gets me every time. I love how minimal outfits still looks elegant. Personally, I’ve always been a fan of plain whites & blacks because they go with everything and they are super easy to style and work with.

So, for my look, I’m layering a dark blue denim shirt over a plain white camisole and wearing light blue denim jeans for contrast. This look is not time consuming which is a huge bonus. It does not require much of an effort, I simply added a shade of bright pink on my lips, put on some minimalist gold jewelry &  I was ready to go!

Denim on denim has been trending a lot lately. So far, everywhere I look this summer, people seem to be embracing the trend in so many different ways. I styled my shirt in a super simple way but if you want to go for an edgier and more rugged look, feel free to toss a denim shirt over a plain dress and dress it up with boots or heels.

A few tips, wear your denim shirt around your waist to create an illusion of a slimmer waist. Tie your hair up to make it look more casual and comfortable!

P.s. Just a little note on the denim shirt, I picked it up on Commercial Street for a very low price (Rs. 350). Street shopping always pays off!
